A rare and unusual Victorian ash jewellery box, the top and front profusely inlaid with geometric bands, the canted corners cross-banded in tulipwood. To the top is a central mother of pearl cartouche surrounded by further inlays with a matching keyhole escutcheon to the front.

The box has been re-lined in a red cotton moire fabric and a luxurious red silk velvet, the inside of the lid further enhanced with gold thread embroidery.

The box has been cleaned and professionally French polished and is in showroom condition.

With working lock & tasselled key.
