Victorian walnut & inlsaid jewellery box.

A good quality Victorian walnut jewellery box, the top and front inlaid with marquetry bandings, the canted edges similarly decorated. To top has a central mother of pearl diamond shaped cartouche surrounded by more inlay, the front with matching keyhole escutcheon.

The box opens to reveal a fitted interior re-lined in a blue cotton moire fabric and a luxurious blue silk velvet, the inside of the lid further enhanced with gold thread embroidery. The lift-out tray reveals a further storage area beneath.

The box has been cleaned and professionally French polished and is in showroom condition.

With working lock & tasselled key.
