Victorian burr walnut jewellery / sewing box.

A good Victorian burr walnut jewellery or sewing box, the edges banded in coromandel, the top inlaid with a geometric 'tumbling blocks' tunbridge ware panel.

Thr box opens to reveal the original interior, the inside of the lid with a hidden document compartment with matching tumbling blocks motif. The original lift-out tray with three tunbridge ware type lids. The interior is all original apart from the base which we have re-lined in a blue silk velvet.

With working lock & tassled key.
