Fine Victorian coromandel jewellery box, Stocken London

A fine quality Victorian coromandel jewellery box by Stocken (Charles Stocken) 55 Quadrant, Regent Street, London. The well chosen coromandel veneers are banded throughout in brass with further brass stringing. The top has a central engraved oval cartouche.

The box opens to reveal the original interior in Moroccan leather, the lid with ruched silk velvet which drops down via a secret button behind the lock keep to reveal a stationery storage area and the original mirror.

The two trays have been re-lined with clean new silk velvet to match the lid, the top tray fitted various compartments and a shallow tray beneath for chains etc. 

There is a further storage area beneath, the back section of which lifts out to reveal a secret drawer behind.

With working Bramah lock & original tassled key.
