Fine large Victorian rosewood & inlaid jewellery box.

A supoerb rosewood veneered jewellery box of unusual large size, with finely figured veneers throughout, the top inlaid in gold, silver and bronze coloured metal inlays highlighted with a mother of pearl central cartouche and abalone shell. The front has simliar motifs to the keyhole. 

The box opens to reveal the re-lined interior, the lift-out tray revealing a further storage area beneath. To the right of the box a brass pin releases the spring loaded side drawer similarly re-lined in plush rose pink silk velvet.

With working lock & tassled key.
