A good quality Victorian golden burr walnut jewellery box, the top with an engraved shield shaped brass cartouche, the front with a matching keyhole escutcheon. The box is banded throughout with fine ebony stringing.

The box opens to reveal the original fully fitted mahogany & moroccan leather interior which we have re-lined in a luxurious blue silk velvet. The lift-out tray reveals a further storage area beneath and to the rear of the box a button releases the front drawer which has also been re-lined.

A secret button beneath the lock keep releases the mirror which can be fitted in the lid either way around and also conceals the secret document pouch.

With working lock & tassled key.
