Antique burr walnut jewellery box by Pearce of Cornhill.

A large and fine burr walnut jewellery box by Pearce of Cornhill, London. The finely figured walnut with brass banding throughout, the top with an engraved shield shaped escutcheon with swag beneath, the front with corresponding escutcheon.

The box opens to reveal a fully fitted interior lined in a plush deep red velvet, the lift-out tray fitted various compartments and ring holders revealing a further storage area beneath. To the rear of the box a brass button releases the front drawer, similarly lined in velvet.

With fully worknig lock and tassled key.
