Fine antique burr walnut jewellery box by Parkins & Gotto.

A fine and rare Victorian burr walnut dome-topped jewellery box by Parkins & Gotto, Oxford Street. With inlaid brass stringing and rounded brass edging, the top with a round vacant cartouche.

The lid opens to reveal a purple silk velvet lined interior, the lift out tray revealing a further storage compartment beneath. Inside the lid is a detachable mirror. removed via a secret button under the lock keep. Can be used independently or inside the lid. Behind is a leather wallet for stationery.

A button at the rear releases the drawer to the from of the box, revealing a further silk lined storage area with a Moroccan leather cover. The makers name is inset to the top of the drawer front.
